From cozy coffee shops to trendy restaurants, IYKYK bars to charming hotels, we’ve got you covered.

Coffee

Oleo

Oleo Coffee is right up the street from the guide and is such an inviting space with its rustic look, vintage decor, and huge bar to post up to. The owners know their coffee and have been the choice roaster for many coffee shops in town for years. Pro tip: don't miss out on their biscuits & spreads. Top notch and baked in house.

Cafe Corazon

Cafe Corazon Brings a taste of Latin America to Kansas City. Always an upbeat place with great vibes and such welcoming staff. Enjoy their rich coffee, yerba mate, and a variety of Latin-inspired food. A gem in the crossroads.

Messenger Coffee

Messenger Coffee is a must-visit for coffee lovers. The breathtaking multi-level building is an experience in itself and houses both their roasting facility and the company’ bakery. Great coffee and mouthwatering baked goods. p.s. their rooftop seating offers a fantastic view of the city, making it a great place to relax and enjoy your coffee.

Seven Swans Creperie

Seven Swans Creperie is on the edge of the West side, but absolutely worth the short trip. Seven Swans Creperie is snuggled into a quaint neighborhood, and walking through the front door, you’ll enter into a whimsical atmosphere. Whether you prefer sweet or savory, they have the crepe to satisfy your taste buds.

Lunch

Town Topic

Town Topic is A Kansas City staple and the go-to burger joint in town. Town Topic is a classic diner that has been serving Kansas City since 1937. Ridiculously tasty smashburgers, but of course get the tots, shake, and a slice of pie too.

Parlour

Parlour is a collection of different restaurant concepts all in one building. An easy choice for those who can’t agree on where they want to eat. Only a stone’s throw from The Guild and something to satisfy everyone there.

Dinner

Jack Stack

Jack Stack - It wouldn’t be a KC list without BBQ, and Jack Stack is a crowd pleaser. Mouthwatering BBQ, legendary burnt ends and ribs. Don’t forget to get the cheesy corn. The Freight House building this Jack Stack is in is another plus - so cool.

Grunauer

Grunauer offers a taste of Austria in the heart of Kansas City. Their authentic Austrian cuisine, including schnitzels and sausages, makes for a memorable dining experience. This is also in the Freight House building, which offers such a wonderful ambiance.

Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin - A local go-to and stylish spot known for its innovative small plates and extensive wine list. In the warmer months, the front patio is the place to be.

Farina

Farina - An elevated Italian restaurant led by a James Beard award-winning chef. They’ve got an oyster bar too, by the way.

Drinks

Brewery Emperial

Brewery Emperial - For hanging outside, it’s hard to beat Brewery Emperial. Great beer, friendly staff and the large outdoor beer garden is a vibe. Their beer, “Biscuit”, is the staple.

Casual Animal

Casual Animal - If you look up reviews of Casual Animal, you’ll keep seeing people talk about the amazing atmosphere, and it’s so true. This brewery is in a rustic, sprawling space with tons of plants and natural light. There is a beer to fit everyone’s tastes and always such great energy in this place.

Swordfish Toms

Swordfish Toms A go-to speakeasy in Kansas City. There is usually a wait, but it’s worth it. Knowledgeable staff, creative drinks, and in a dark, sultry space. No beer, wine, or food here - Expertly-crafted cocktails only.

Jims Alley Bar

Jims is A fun, casual bar, that as the name suggests, is indeed in an alley, and you may pass the entrance a couple times before you find it. 70s dive bar vibes and always a good time.

King G

King G - One of the most electric places in the Crossroads on any given weekend night. The main level will be packed with people and a ton of energy. If that becomes too much, there is a downstairs bar that’s lowkey where you can take a breather and have a cocktail. Solid drinks and friendly staff.

Percheron

Percheron - A rooftop bar on the top of Crossroads Hotel with perhaps the best view of Kansas City.

Mercury Room

Mercury Room - For those wanting a high-end night out, Mercury Room is it. An absolutely elevated space and one of the most instagramed bars in Kansas City. Unreal cocktails, but it’s the space and view of Downtown that steal the show. Make reservations and dress up! - there is a dress code.

Hotels

Crossroads Hotel

Crossroads Hotel - A modern boutique hotel in the heart of the Crossroads. From the vibrant lobby, to the thoughtful rooms, to the bustling rooftop bar, Crossroads Hotel nails it.

Hotel KC

Hotel KC - A historic building that was fully renovated boasting luxurious, victorian-inspired designs. And with great dining establishments inside, it’s absolutely one of the all-star hotels in Kansas City.

No Vacancy

No Vacancy - For a true boutique experience, No Vacancy is it. Only 8 rooms, all uniquely designed, and everything has been thought of. Interior design fans - prepare to fall in love.

Experience

Green Lady Lounge

Green Lady Lounge is a must experience. From the outside, totally unassuming, but as soon as you walk in, you are transported back in time into a moody and bustling jazz club. P.s. If the street level is too packed, there is a downstairs that often has another jazz band playing.

But wait. There’s more.. Way more.

We are really only hitting the tip of the iceberg with this list, as there are so many more amazing locations to visit. The Crossroads District has become one of the most vibrant areas in Kansas City, and we are so lucky to call this our home. If you are coming in for an event at The Guild, we’ll see you soon, and if you are looking to host an event or a venue for your wedding, reach out! We’d love to make it a special day.
